In Sardinian folklore, Sa Coixedda is a mischievous little spirit—the one people blame when something disappears or the day takes an unexpected turn.
It is not an evil figure, but an unpredictable and ultimately likeable character: a light-hearted way of describing an island where legends and everyday life still live side by side.
The name also looks towards the Sella del Diavolo, the headland overlooking the Gulf of Angels. According to legend, during a battle with the Archangel Michael, Lucifer lost his saddle. When it fell into the sea, it became the rock formation that now shapes Cagliari’s skyline.

Flying into Elmas?
Follow the signs to Elmas Aeroporto railway station and take a train to Cagliari. The journey takes less than 10 minutes. Cagliari station is beside Piazza Matteotti.
From there, continue by bus towards Bonaria or take a taxi. The map shows the route and up-to-date connections for your arrival time.

When you leave the railway station, you will be in Piazza Matteotti. To reach Bonaria, take bus 5 from the nearby stop in Via Roma, the PF from Via Sassari opposite the station car park, or the PQ from platform three in Piazza Matteotti. All three stop in the neighbourhood, a short distance from Via Asti 1/B.
